I have written about the importance of asking your customers to post positive reviews about their experience at your dealership. I have also listed the most popular consumer review websites that Google and Yahoo index on a regular basis. I have also written about how these reviews are being rolled up in Google Maps.
A new twist into leveraging your dealerships excellent customer service is to work with your dealership’s website platform provider to add a link to your customer reviews on their inventory module pages.
Car dealer inventory pages are the most often viewed pages on their websites. Since consumers are often comparing prices and features between competing local dealers, enhancing your inventory pages could mean the difference in a consumer selecting your dealership to buy their car.
The premise is simple. If you have done a good job on asking customers to post positive reviews on websites like www.dealerrater.com, www.citysearch.com, www.insiderpages.com and www.edmunds.com then you should use these reviews to convince shoppers of your added value that is not reflected in price alone.
Most car dealer web platforms have a template page for car detail listings. I am suggesting that you contact your web provider and ask to have links to your positive reviews as part of every car detail page. For example, if you have high Dealerrater scores like Marlboro Nissan or Acton toyota, then these dealers should have links on their car inventory pages that highlight these positive reviews.
I would also add other consumer review websites since Dealerrater is not the only site that Google indexes. You can see our list of recommended websites that should be included in your Internet Reputation Management program.
The text on your car detail pages could look something like this:
“Marlboro Nissan strives to provide outstanding customer service. We go the extra mile for our customers, their friends, their family members and anyone who visits our Marlboro Massachusetts dealership. If you are shopping for a new or used car in Massachusetts, make sure you select an auto dealer that stands behind what they sell. Read our dealership reviews on the following consumer review websites: Dealerrater.com - Insiderpages.com – Yelp.com and see why buying a car at Marlboro Nissan is a smart choice.”
Of course, if you follow these links, you will see that this dealer has to ask their customers to add reviews to more websites than just Dealerrater.
I believe that by showcasing your positive reviews, it will start to train consumers to check the reviews on other competing dealers. This will eventually be a great equalizer since some dealers sell on price alone and have poor customer service ratings.
