We encourage car dealers to own at least one Internet marketing website that is NOT leased. A company owned website that can be designed to bring in steady car leads, year after year. Car dealers may not realize that their contract with the car dealer platform they are using is a lease arrangement. Car dealer websites are built with technology and software owned by the web platform company. The day a dealership ends their monthly/annual contract, the website comes down and and the dealer does not own a thing.
Every few years, car dealers seem to change the web platform that they use to keep inventory and sell cars. Every time they change platforms they take a steps backwards without even knowing it. In most cases, the change breaks dozen of established links in Google and Yahoo search indexes. This is bad for the page targeted SEO strategies that have been in place.
